What can I expect in a cooking class?

Each cooking class is completely hands-on, interactive and of course... fun! 
Everyone will be sharing equipment, prep work, cooking, and ultimately the food we cook together.
We will all practice proper sanitation methods and hand-washing procedures.

Please wear comfortable shoes as we will be standing a lot (while we prep and cook), but will then sit together to enjoy our meal!

We will provide an apron for you to use, and you can also take the recipes home with you after class.

Cooking classes are for Adults only, unless specified.

How long does a class last?

Each cooking class will have a time on the event. They are typically 3 hours, or workshops are 2-2.5 hours. 
PLEASE NOTE: they may last a little longer! (if there is a lot of talking and having fun/laughing, for example!)

Where is the Mix, Mince and Mingle kitchen studio located?

We are in Soddy Daisy (on Mowbray Mountain) and you will be given our full address once your class is booked!

Question 4

What if I have to cancel the cooking class I booked?

Accepted Answer

Just like concerts or sporting events, the class still goes on! Sorry, but we are unable to offer refunds.
You can, however, have someone else come in your place.
OR
If you give us 48 hours notice, you can switch to another class.
There is no consideration for NO SHOWS.

What if I have a food allergy?

Please contact us BEFORE you book your cooking class about any food allergies or restrictions you may have. This information must be brought to our attention!

We will try to do our best to substitute, but in some cases, we may not be able to.

Question 6

How many people are in each class?

Accepted Answer

We offer small, intimate cooking classes, where we can be more hands-on with learning and participating. 
Class sizes are 4 - 8 people.

In the event that less than 4 people have signed up for a class, your class MAY be cancelled.

If a class is cancelled due to insufficient registration, you will be notified and you can either switch to another class OR get a full refund.

What if I already know how to cook? OR if I have no idea how to cook?

Either way, it doesn't matter! Our cooking classes are an engaging and enjoyable experience designed for people of all cooking abilities, from budding chefs to seasoned home cooks. In our classes, you'll learn new techniques, explore a variety of cuisines, and have fun cooking alongside fellow food enthusiasts in a welcoming and supportive environment. No matter your skill level, there's always something new to discover in our hands-on cooking classes!

Can my children join a class?

Classes are for Adults only.

If you book a private class (needs at least 4 people), you may then bring your minor child to attend with you.

We do sometimes offer classes specifically for kids OR teenagers, so keep you eyes peeled for them (or ask if you are interested!).

What can I drink during the cooking class?

Accepted Answer

We do not serve alcohol. We do have water and any other drink will be on the class menu (if any).
You can BYOB though, this includes non-alcoholic drinks.

Is your cooking school a restaurant?

No, our cooking school is not a restaurant or retail food place. We specialize in providing culinary education and instruction, not dining services.
